Illowa Intergroup Business Meeting Minutes

October 5, 2009

 

The meeting was called to order by Ben D. at 6:05 pm.

 

ATTENDANCE:

 

Groups Present: Bettendorf, Central Discussion, Courage to Change, Northwest, Primary Purpose, and West End

Chairs Present: District 9 Liaison – Gail S., Events – Karen K.

 

Secretary’s Minutes - Minutes from the September 14, 2009 meeting were approved as published.

 

Treasurer’s Report –   Income for September, 2009 was $2,367.25.  Contributions totaled $504.09; sales were $1,415.40, events were $443.40, and bank dividends totaled $4.36.

 

The breakdown for actual expenses and purchases for September is as follows: general expenses - $1,827.09, event expenses - $100.00, and literature purchases - $976.63.

 

The balance in the general checking and savings accounts as of September 30, 2009 was $6,906.54. Of this balance, liabilities total $1,761.57.  This leaves a remaining balance of $5,144.97.  The balance in the events account is $300.00.

 

A copy of the Profit & Loss report was available for the reps to share with their groups.  This form reports both monthly and year-to-date financial information.  – Susan F., Treasurer

 

Telephone – All is going well with the phones. There are two slots available on the phone rotation – the first Wednesday of the month (evening shift), and the fourth Sunday of the month (9 am to 5:30 pm).  If anyone is available please contact Mel M. or the Intergroup Office. – Mel M., Telephone Chair

 

Office Manager’s Report – Call counts for August were 10 twelve-step, 202 information, 0 Alanon/Alateen, and 54 visitors. 

 

Please contact the office if you are willing to do some service work by being a backup volunteer or doing other chores around the office.  It is a great way to learn more about what Intergroup is all about.

Events: - The 36th Intergroup Anniversary dinner/dance will be held on April 24, 2010 at the Moline American Legion.  Tickets will be $20.00.  Susan F. has offered to help find a speaker for the event.  If anyone else is interested please call the office.  – Karen K., Events Chair

 

Newsletter: - This Newsletter Chair position is still vacant at this time.  The Office Manger will be sending out the next newsletter.  If anyone is interested in helping please contact the office.

 

District 9 Report – No report.

 

District 90 Report – Elections will be held at the October 6th business meeting.  All positions are open.

Old Business – The Newsletter Chair and District 90 Intergroup Liaison positions are still open. If anyone is interested in these positions please contact the Intergroup Office or plan to attend the next business meeting.

Group Reports -  

Bettendorf Group – Sobriety is alive and well at the Bettendorf Group.  Our meetings are well attended.

 

Central Discussion – The group move went well.  The anniversary/picnic went well and was well attended.  Meetings are being well attended.
