Office Manager’s Report –
It has been a very busy month here at the office, with our annual anniversary event, annual and quarterly tax reports, ordering and keeping track of inventory, etc. As always, I am very grateful for the morning volunteers who keep the office open. It is also very nice to have all positions filled this year so that others can get experience in helping with Intergroup.
I had a visit today from the assistant office manager from Bloomington, IL who filled me in on their operations. They now have an office open 6 days a week with four shifts of volunteers each weekday.
If you know you are going to be purchasing several items from Intergroup, it would be helpful if you could call or e-mail ahead so we can have the order ready or let you know what items aren't in inventory. As a reminder, the office is closed for business at 5:30, so please respect that, especially on business meeting nights, and do your purchasing at another time. Thanks in advance!
I stated at the business meeting that we needed an office chair as ours was broken, and thanks to Kevin K., had one the next day. Thank you, Kevin!
In love and service,
Lisa W., Office Manager
Telephone Chair Report: The Intergroup phone rotation is full at the present time and we have an ample amount of people for the backup list. We would like to have more names of people that are interested in helping with either list. In loving service, Robert S.
Newsletter Report: The newsletter went out in the new format on April 28th before all business meetings. I will try to improve on the column formatting to avoid so many hyphenated words. I want to thank all of my "roving" reporters for their articles. I want to thank the NIA Concepts newsletter chair for his help on how to reproduce copyrighted material. I am keeping track of the newsletter costs for analysis at a later date. This month the 82 newsletters cost $78.72 to print and $51.20 to mail ($1.54 per newsletter). All groups received a complimentary copy of the newsletter, and we have approximately 54 subscriptions at $13/year or $1.08/month. I will be using a less costly printer next month. If you would like to submit an article, please e-mail it to shell@mchsi.com.
Events: The total income from the anniversary event was $ 5,690.85. Total expenses were $3,245,45 leaving a net profit of $2,445.40. Thanks to everyone who participated.
Lisa W., Office Manager
District 9 & District 90 – please see full report in newsletter minutes and on the website at www.aaquadcities.com.
Group Reports -
Bettendorf Group – The north wall bench is now complete and is an attractive and comfortable addition to the room. Joni was elected to be our new alternate Intergroup rep and John is our new treatment chair. The Bettendorf anniversary was attended by about 170 people. We need to find a new place next year for our anniversary event as we have outgrown the upstairs civic center. Terri B. has been calling around checking different places out. The Bettendorf group is taking applications for volunteers who would like to help take meetings into the jail. In love and service, Karen K.
Central Discussion – Our business meeting was held in April. Barry P. has been elected as our new group chairperson. Our next business meeting will be held July 17th at 5:30 p.m. We need support at our 7 p.m. Tuesday meetings. All meetings are going very well. Brenda M.
Courage to Change - Attendance is steady. We have a flyer out regarding our anniversary on June 7.
Northwest Group – Attendance is steady with 75-80 attending the 8 p.m. Monday meeting and 25-30 attending the 5:30 p.m. meeting on Wednesday.
The Traditional 1212 Primary Purpose Big Book Study Group of Davenport – located at Cobblestone Place, 1212 West 3rd Street, Davenport, IA. Meetings are held Mondays and Fridays from 6 – 7:30 p.m. These are new meetings that could use support.
Old Business – None
New Business – Susan F. started a discussion on ways we could let groups know that we rely on group contributions and need help.
The next business meeting will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011 at the Intergroup Office in Moline.
Respectfully submitted,
Lisa W., Office Manager
