The meeting was called
to order by Dee @ 6:00pm., followed by the serenity prayer. The
minutes were approved.

Treasurer’s
Report: Income for the month was $4638.54. Contributions totaled
$870.22; sales were $2059.90 Events $1702.00 Bank Dividends $6.42.
The breakdown of actual expenses and purchases for the month is as
follows: General Expenses $1579.15: Event expenses $1170.00 and
literature purchases $ 1722.52: Taxes $705.25. The balance in the
general account and savings accounts as of July 31, 07 is $8619.97.
Of this balance liabilities total $1399.87 and $2200.00 is budgeted
for August expenses. This leaves a remaining balance of $5020.10.
Office Managers
Report: Call counts
for July were 9 12-step, 183 information, 0 Alanon/Alateen, and 76
visitors. There will be a clearance items set up in the office
beginning August 8th. We will sell overstocked or earlier
versions of pamphlets and a few books. These will be sold at greatly
reduced prices. Due to the loss of the telephone computer, we have
experienced some difficulty with transferring the phones in the early
morning and weekends. A meeting was held to discuss the possible
solutions. Thank You for your patience. We are looking for volunteers
to work some Thursday and Friday mornings from 9 to 13:30 at the
office. A volunteer is needed for the afternoon on august 22. If you
know someone needing service work, there are plenty of windows to be
washed at the office. Please call me if you can help. Please continue
turning in AA birthdays for the newsletter.
Events: The Golf
outing was a huge success, fun & fellowship. There were 33 people
playing, 4 person scramble. The profit was $532.00. The annual
Intergroup event date is set for May 3, 08. Calls placed for speaker
and waiting for a return call. The softball event is scheduled for
September 15 @ Crow Creek Park Bettendorf, from 10am to 6pm. There
will be a minimum 2 diamonds, possible 3 to use. $60/ team, 3 women
minimum. Committee is looking at umpires and concessions. The trophy
is on display at the office. The softball contact numbers are at the
Intergroup office.
Newsletter: I
would like to apologize to West End group for forgetting to rerun
their picnic flyer in the August newsletter. Other than, all is going
well.
Telephone Chair
: We will be pursuing Vonage for remote transfer/ phone service. We
can keep are phone #. We are ironing out problems, should have all
issues fixed by end of the month. I have a volunteer for the co
chair.

Unfinished Business:
- Yearly Budget was
tabled till next month.
- We received a
letter from the State of Illinois about fines because we paid our
employee taxes annual and not quarterly. We are waiting to hear back
from the state if they will waive the fines.
New Business:
NONE.
Group Reports:
Primary Purpose Group is having a picnic September 3 at the group.
6pm eat and 8pm open speaker meeting. Kim S. from Des Moines is the
speaker. North West group is looking at moving. Bettendorf is voting
on ban pipe and cigar smoking at their meetings in August. Their
picnic will be September 9 @ the Bettendorf Veterans Memorial park.
The picnic begins at 11:30. Food served from noon till 1pm. Please
bring your own table service and a dish to share.
