Group Reports: Geneseo Group—Earlene reported the Geneseo Group might be having their annual business meeting in November.  They are talking about making the Monday night meeting a Big Book Study. Henry County Group—Chuck reported that there would be an Anniversary picnic on September 30 at Francis Park.  Dinner will be served at 5:00 p.m. and the open meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m.  Anyone interested, may camp at the park on Friday night.  The Royal Oaks Care Center meetings are being held every Thursday morning at 9:30 a.m.  There were seven in attendance at one of last month’s meetings.  Last Chance Group—Mike reports a lot of newcomers are attending.  The group hasn’t contributed to District 90 recently because they raised the ceiling on the prudent reserve.  In the near future, they should be able to make a contribution to District 90.  House Group—the annual picnic is at Riverside Park on Sunday, September 10.  Primary Purpose—Terry reported that the group hopes to elect a new GSR within the next month.  They have seen an increase in membership.  Everyone has been informed of the Spring Conference in 2007.  Hope to get volunteers at the September 17th meeting at the Last Chance Group. Aledo Group—Kurt reported attendance is good.  At the Sunday morning meeting last week, they had 26 in attendance.  The group added a bigger table and six additional chairs.  There is a Big Book study on Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m.  The step meeting is Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.

DCM Report: Earlene will be in California on October 3.  Butch will run the meeting in her absence.  We received a request from the Chicago area to fill a “Bridging the Gap” need.  An inmate is being released from Sheridan Correctional Institution in November.  Terry volunteered to contact the individual and do 12th Step work.  2007 Spring Conference: We still need volunteers from the groups to help out with decorations, registration, entertainment, etc. The meetings are on the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m., with a quarterly meeting on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. The next meeting is at the Last Chance Group, 523 15th Street, Moline on Sunday,  September 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. The flyer on the website needs to be updated.  Butch will handle that. It has also been requested that the flyer with new dates and locations be submitted to the Intergroup newsletter each month. Earlene recommended that expense be submitted to the Conference Planning Committee for budgetary consideration.  The chair of the Greeters Committee has asked that we take volunteer sign-up sheets to the groups.  Please announce these sign-ups to the groups and return the sheets to Butch  at the October meeting.  Art Anderson, the NIA Treasurer, passed away last month.  In the interim, Randy McGill is the acting treasurer.  The new address to mail contributions to the area is:  NIA Treasurer, Northern Illinois Area, Ltd., PO Box 246, Bourbonnais, IL 60914-0246.  Should you need to speak to him in person, his phone number is 815-933-9108 or cell phone is:  815-953-2368.  Pass this information on to your District and Group Treasurers.  Meanwhile, use the envelopes you have and insert the new address.  New contributions envelopes have been obtained and will be distributed as soon as possible, but definitely at the Fall Assembly.

Northern Illinois Area 20 Fall Assembly—September 9, 2006 at the Bethel Baptist Church, 1198 N. Academy Street, Galesburg, IL.  Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.  Meeting begins at 9:00 a.m.  Lunch will be served.  District 91 hosts the event.  GSRs are expected to attend all assemblies. Please make sure to let your group know that it is part of your service to them, and remind them that part of group self-support is to provide the financial support necessary to provide this service. In other words, your group’s Seventh Tradition funds pay for your expenses when serving the group. Car-pooling is fun, and can save the groups money, especially for those groups with limited funds. Area Committee: The next quarterly meeting is on October 14, in Sycamore, IL. Treasurer’s Report: Monthly report not available.  District 90 donations received from:  $50 Aledo, $50 Geneseo, $50 Milan Group. There were no expenses during the month of August
