District 90 Meeting Minutes 11/6/07

Earlene W. – DCM, called meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. with a moment of silence followed by the Serenity Prayer.

AA Birthdays: None

Changes to Minutes: September minutes, add Tammy D. approved for reimbursement of hotel expense to attend the East Central Regional Forum. Approved with corrections.

Concept Presentation: Bruce gave the Concept 11 presentation. Butch volunteered to do the Concept 12 presentation at the December meeting in Kewanee on December 4.

Continuation of District 90 Elections: Erlene informed the group that the 3rd Legacy would be used if necessary. Open Positions: Literature, Grapevine, Corrections, CPC, Special Needs – The following were elected: Terry D: Corrections, Chuck: Special Needs. Allen will help with Literature until someone else takes the position, Butch will be a CPC resource if there is a request. The open positions will be voted on again at the December meeting.

Roster for 2008 – 2010: Tammy passed around a signup sheet for the new GSRs.

New Business: AA Quad City Website renewal fee due in December. A motion was made by Terry W. to approve payment of approximately $60 (or our third) of the annual fee. Intergroup will pay 1/3 and District 9 has agreed to pay 1/3. Tammy D. added the site is averaging 400-500 hits per month. It’s a good tool for the Quad Cities. The motion was approved unanimously.

Old Business: The following will be reimbursed for the hotel expense to attend the forum in Arlington Heights, November 9, 10 and 11: Tammy: $240, Bruce: $120, Butch: unsure if the amount, will furnish receipts at December meeting. Not sure if Sam is planning to attend. Andrea would like to go. Butch will check with Sam and see if Andrea can share a room with her. No report from Nancy on the Grapevine dance. Butch will contact Nancy and have a complete report for the December meeting.

Officer’s Reports: Treasurer Report – Butch noted a correction to the report. Add $25 contribution from Primary Purpose. The December report will reflect the change.

Incoming DCM – Tammy attended the Area Committee meeting. She reported there are public service announcements available if we want to use them. The third edition of the Spanish Big Book will be out in December. Chicago has made a bid for the 2020 International Conference. The Grapevine will be available at ½ cost during the month of November. If you want to purchase a subscription for someone, you may purchase for $7.50 per year. Literature – Allen purchased Anonymity cards and table tents for the groups. Treatment – Bruce reported a new treatment facility, “Douglas Park Place” will be opening soon. There will be a weekly meeting held – details to follow. Meeting ajourned at 7:00 p.m.


Upcoming Meetings: December 4, 2007 Kewanee Group, 110 W. 1st Street, Kewanee at 6:00 p.m. Potluck – bring a covered dish to share. Guests are welcome!
