The next area committee meeting is August 3 in La Fox, IL and We, District 90 are hosting it. Bruce will need help in the kitchen and we need volunteers at the registration table, too. Our Area Delegate report will be September 28 at the Primary Purpose Group, no definite time set yet. (Tammy D.)

Committee Reports:
Correctional Facilities: I was unable to attend the Corrections Workshop but Ben D. went in my place. I have new schedules for both men and women in the Rock Island County jail. I need volunteers to go into the jail, if interested please contact me and I will see about getting you cleared to go in. The youth facility in Kewanee is requesting Big Books and 12 X 12’s in Spanish, I have received them from the area and am making plans for delivery. (Terry D.)
Treatment Facilities: Things are going well with the facilities we are working with, but we need volunteers to carry the message into the Wednesday night group at Riverside in Rock Island. We would like to expand our services into other facilities but we are in need of volunteers. If you are available for this rewarding work please contact me through Central Office. (Bruce M.)
Grapevine: I attended the Corrections Workshop and heard that prisoners do read the Grapevine, In the near future I will be asking for volunteers to help with the following: 1. Bring used copies of the Grapevine, 2. Assist in removing staples, 3.To machine sew these publications. (Diane M.)

Literature: No requests for literature at the present time. (Allen H.)
Special Needs: I loaned District 91 our copies of the Big Book and 12 X 12 on videotape in American Sign Language. (Chuck L.)
Intergroup Liaison: Contributions are down. We need phone volunteers on the 3rd Friday. It was decided to print the addresses for contributions to Districts 90 and 91 on the next schedule.
Our Primary Purpose Meeting: The GSR attended the NIA Summer Assembly. The Primary Purpose Picnic is September 14, 2008 at Shadt Park in Silvis. Average attendance: Sunday - 15, Monday - 35. (Randy F.)
Rainbow Group: The GSR attended the NIA Summer Assembly. At the QCA Pride Fest on June 28th the group gave away 25 informational/newcomer packets and has excess packets to give back to the district. We would like to thank the district for its financial support used to purchase literature. Average attendance is 10. (Jesse N.)
Milan Hillcrest Group: The group has discussed the districts proposed budget and feels it is not right to spend more than we take in. In the past our trusted servants paid their own gas to events and there is a feeling that this budget will not work. There will be a picnic on September 9, 2008 there will be a flyer soon. On Saturday, July 12th there will be a campfire meeting in Black Hawk State Park. Our Sunday evening meeting is now a closed meeting except the 3rd Sunday which is an open speaker meeting. (Mary L.)
Last Chance Group: The group will be celebrating its 20th anniversary on August 2 at 11:00 AM. It will be held at Tony’s house, 6817 33rd St in Moline, by the airport. A hog will be roasted and drinks provided, please bring a dish to pass. There’s a potluck every 3rd Friday after the 5:30 meeting, after eating there is an 8:00 speaker meeting. (Kris O.)
Henry County Group: All is well, attendance about average for the summer, donations a little slim at times but we are still self-supporting. We hosted the Area Corrections Workshop on June 28th and had a great turnout and some excellent presentations. News of our anniversary function to be forthcoming. (Allen H.)
Motion: That budget of $2,680.00 be approved as presented.
Milan Hillcrest Groups concerned that mileage projection is too high, in the past they picked that up themselves. Vote 10-Y, 1-N, 0-A. Motion passes.
2. District Picnic plans set for Fall event to be a costume party with a chili cook-off. Adults only and AA teenagers, but no children. The committee of eight is looking at the Moline VFW. The motion to fund up to $200.00 for a down payment for the event was passed unanimously.
