Concept Presentation: Allen H. presented Concept VIII; Butch W. will present Concept IX DCM Report: I would like to thank our visitors for traveling out here and I welcome them to critique me in my position tonight. I also want to thank Bruce M. for his expertise in the kitchen at the area committee meeting we hosted this past month. The Fall Assembly is in Galesburg on September 13th. The Area Delegate report is scheduled for 1:00 to 3:00 on Sunday, September 28 at the Primary Purpose Group. (Tammy D.)
Treasurer’s Report: Expenses for June were $315.85 versus income of $339.00.The income was a single group contribution $65.85 and reimbursement of $250.00 from area for expenses of hosting the area committee meeting. 2008 year to date we have a deficit of $150.24. (Terry W.)
Committee Reports:
Correctional Facilities: We need female volunteers to go into the RI County Jail.. (Terry D.)
Treatment Facilities: We need volunteers to carry the message into the Wednesday 7 PM Step & Tradition meeting at Riverside in Rock Island. (Bruce M.)
Grapevine: Nothing new. (Diane M.)
Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC): absent
Public Information (PI): absent
Literature: No requests for literature at the present time. The West Dundee Group has a motion at the area to add the short form of the Twelve Concepts for World Service to the Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions, there may be discussion of this at the Fall Assembly. (Allen H.)

Intergroup Liaison: Missed the Intergroup meeting, no report..
Our Primary Purpose Meeting:. The Primary Purpose Picnic is September 14, 2008 at Schadt Park in Silvis. We are grilling to eat at 3 PM, please bring a side dish to share. Speaker at 6:30. Average attendance: Sunday - 15, Monday - 32. (Randy F.)
Rainbow Group: The Rainbow group picnic is scheduled for Friday September 12th, the speaker is Tammy D. (Jesse N.)
Last Chance Group: The group celebrated its 20th anniversary on August 2. Good food, time and fellowship was had by all. There’s a potluck every 3rd Friday after the 5:30 meeting, after eating there is an 8:00 speaker meeting. Average attendance is 18 people. (Kris O.)
Henry County Group: The group will be celebrating its 34th anniversary on September 27th at Francis Park on Rt. 34 between Kewanee and Neponset. Festivities run from 2 PM until 10 PM with the potluck set for 6:30. Food, fun and fellowship, plus a sobriety countdown. (Allen H.)
New Business
1. We have reserved the Moline Community Center for Friday, October 31, 2008. The cost was $210.00 for the evening and we were budgeted only $200.00 for this expense. The District 90 Halloween Costume Party will take place from 7 - 10 PM. Admission is $4.00 in advance and $5.00 at the door, see your GSR for tickets. Activities include: AA costume contest, regular costume contest, chili cook-off and potluck.
2. We will have discussion of inviting area officers to our monthly district meetings
Visitors: Area Chair Ray M. and Area Delegate John C. shared their thoughts on some upcoming events. Ray spoke about the discussion regarding a new way to view AA finances and what business would be transacted at the Fall Assembly in Galesburg. The main items on the Fall Assembly business meeting are: election of Alt. Literature chair and Alt. CPC chair, acceptance of bids for the Big Book Conference and the Spring Conference, motions regarding changes area structure, and a motion from the Finance Committee to make a midyear contribution to GSO. John talked about the link between service and sponsorship. He will be coming back soon to let us know what happened at this years General Service Conference.
