Treasurer’s Report: The March treasurer’s reports was presented by DCM and accepted as submitted. Current bank balances total $2,233.34. The Henry County Group GSR stated that he had been asked by a group member, “Why is there such a large amount of money in the bank?” Discussion ensued regarding developing a budget as a plan for prudent use of our resources. The DCM urged all committees to come up with list of expected expenditures so we can have an actual budget.

DCM Report: I attended the Spring Conference, there were approximately 1,000 others attending, plus great speakers and good fellowship. I also attended the assembly last weekend along with 6 others from District 90. There doesn’t seem to be anything big on the agenda for the 2008 General Service Conference. I am hosting the Area 20 service structure ad hoc committee meeting on April 20. District 90 is the host for the Area Committee Meeting on August 3rd and we will need volunteers for registration and in the kitchen. I have not received any feed back from groups regarding hosting movie night.

Committee Reports:

Correctional Facilities: I would like to thank the district for sending me to the assembly last weekend! I met with Rich H., the Area 20 CF Chair. I also met with Pat W., District 91 DCM, and we made plans for the Corrections Workshop. The Henry County Group will be hosting the workshop in Kewanee on June 28th from 1 PM until 5 PM. Rich H. will chair the event and provide the speaker and Pat W will have flyers available very soon. I also received more Big Books from the area. (Terry D.)

Treatment Facilities: Things are going well with the facilities we are working with. I attended the NIA Spring Assembly and was on the TF committee for a breakout session. We discussed the TF agenda items for the upcoming General Service Conference. I will be talking to the Area 20 TF Chair about having a workshop in the coming days to share information to and from the area. (Bruce M.)

Grapevine: I attended the NIA Spring Assembly on Saturday April 5 in Aurora. During the assembly, I was honored to participate in the Grapevine Committee as a representative of District 90. As I said last month, I printed an 80 plus page from the Grapevine website, and I’m glad I did because that booklet is no longer available. (Diane M.)

Cooperation with the Professional Community (CPC): vacant

Public Information (PI): absent

Literature: Everything quiet, no requests. (Allen H.)

Special Needs: I will be placing a request in the newsletter asking which groups are Handicap Accessible in District 90. (Chuck L.)

Intergroup Liaison: There is a new idea for the raffle at the Intergroup Event. Each group is assigned to make a basket about one of the Steps, placing items relating to that step in the basket. The number of tickets to the event has been increased from 250 to 270. The Annual Intergroup Event is April 19 dinner is $17.00, dance is $5.00, and the speaker is Taylor T. They are asking for bids on lawn service.

GSR Reports

Our Primary Purpose Meeting: I attended the Spring Assembly and Pre-General Service Conference Workshop and participated in the Literature breakout session. Primary Purpose will be hosting “circuit speaker” Russ, from Arizona, on Sunday. April 20, 2008. (Randy F.)

Henry County Group: Everything is going along fine. The potluck & movie night has been suspended due to nicer weather and members being involved in other activities. (Allen H.)

Geneseo Group: Everything is fine and attendance is good. The Big Book study on Wednesday is still well attended. (Brian G.)

Rainbow Group: At the monthly business meeting we voted to look at setting up an AA booth at the QCA Pride picnic on June 28, 2008 in Leclaire Park. This will be a street-fair type event celebrating diversity. We would like to request District support for this booth. (Since the event is being held in Iowa it was suggested that they contact the PI committee in District 9 for support.). The group supported the hospitality room at the NIA Spring Conference March 7-9, 2008. They elected interim secretary Randy F. to serve until a regular replacement can be found. I attended the Spring Assembly and Pre-General Service Conference Workshop and participated in the PI breakout meeting. There are a number of television public service announcements available free of charge. Is this something we would be willing to look into? (Placed on agenda as new business.)
